DeMolay is an international fraternal organization for young men
between the ages of 12 and 21. It is sponsored by Masonic bodies.
The organization was founded in 1919 by 9 young men and a Mason in Kansas City, Missouri.
The Order of DeMolay was first established in Arkansas in 1921 at Ft. Smith
with the Institution of Albert Pike Chapter, which is still active today.
Next, in 1922, Hot Springs Chapter and Fay Hempstead Chapter were formed
simultaneously as sister Chapters to each other. Today, Arkansas DeMolay consists of
more than 350 members.
DeMolay International has grown to over 1000 Chapters in the United
States and nine foreign countries.
The purpose of the organization is to teach the principals of moral living through ceremonies and activities.
